I was recently shocked to see that DA Pacheco got a award for elder services when I had

kept asking for that type of service. I cannot imagine what type of reason can be given for

this. Please let me know and our rights to attend.

The misconduct of this case is going to come out. I am asking you to stop preventing

justice for Nye Frank and his family. I am putting this in writing so the request can be

system as the contact person. My mother needs more support and should
be working with a experienced advocate for the elderly. Any ideas?

I am contacting news investigators for writing and investigating this
situation, along with a from a company wanting to do a movie on my
dad. I am hoping this will help get this case back on track. We were
hoping the DA office would step forward but it doesn't seem to be the
case.

Who's name do I put on request of homicide report? I sent out return
evel opes to have the other affidavits rewritten. Mikes office has the
names and phone numbers too. I would of been nice if this case was
investigated.

I was recently shocked to see that DA Pacheco got a award for elder services when I had

kept asking for that type of service. I cannot imagine what type of reason can be given for

this. Please let me know and our rights to attend.

The misconduct of this case is going to come out. I am asking you to stop preventing

justice for Nye Frank and his family. I am putting this in writing so the request can be

documented. Please fax or email your reply as soon as possible.

Factually her was released in one day

Factually the DA and IA and Sheriff knew Lee Frank, her family and
neighbors were being criminally stalked by Phil Reddish, Sheri
Reddish, Ty Reddish, jayson Reddish. We asked for protection which has
been denied even in Federal Court.

The case was closed 104A without explanation

Victim restitution and Compensation were denied along with any explanation

The victim was told that Riverside County did not have a Elder Victim
Advocate, which later turned out to be a fraudulent statement.
The DA Rod Pacheco got a public award in the newspaper that he had a
crime victim program for elders that was denied to Lee Frank and Nye
Frank both over 65.

Denied victim compensation due to being charged falsely with cause of a crime.

The harm that I have experenced
Currently live in a false prison type setting as I cannot freely walk.
Reddish family fraudulently got the victims funds and got a federal
loan on the property.

Loss in value of my home if I have to move and sell as I will have to
disclose a killer down the street.

Loss from the pior move, and denied the services that the Reddish
family received.

Denied Due Process
Denied equal protection of the law.

Lee Frank qualifies under the ADA as having a cronic lung issue
Conflict of interest-

The Team that closed the case exceptonal with out the right of the
victim to speak to a judge

Shultz and Dimagio were both investigators, arrived together, and on
the team to close a homicide which is the sheriff job discription,
which will affect any immunity.

The court records were removed and reported by fax and email to the
courts and Internal Affairs. After the new Internal Affairs department
replaced Ohara I re reported the documents missing and identified a
possible person motivated to remove them. He was fired soon after that

In court the Judge threatened Lee Frank and intimidated her. The
Attorneys for the County filed a false statement of fact in court and
threatened Lee frank if she pursued her rights she could lose
everything.

Filed a Lemine but the court would not let me I had to file it as a
motion. I then went to internal Affairs and had a misconduct officer
come up. That person promised to report it and serve it on the County
legal Council end of July. Which on the day we went into court the
judge recrussed himself and said we could not be heard in Riverside
County.

We received the reason for the denial of the victim compensation Sept. 2009

All evidence requested and the judge ordered was denied.

We filed in Federal Court before there was ever a hearing.

The attorney for the DA, Supervisors and Internal Affairs ext sent
threatening letters, calls, and even told us they were cancelling the
Federal case. Which we emailed them and stated that they are not
authorized to cancel the case, only Congress has the right. Because we
did not hear from the Federal Court yet we went to the next hearing.
The judge said he denys Federal Court and ruled that the Penal Code
368 does not apply to us which is a penal code for elder protection.
When the attorney put the statement that there was a hearing they was
no court reporter records.

Diana Dimaggio worked as a prosecutor in Banning, now probate judge
with the same attorneys that worked with Melody Scott who lost her
license for the Elder Care Program and corruption.
Brian Floyd blogs on wrestling sites with Dimaggio son, past student
of Phil Reddish, and on a commitee with Judge Richard Fields
Taylors -Dimaggio family members at the site Federal Employee and in
several probate cases with the Reddish family in Riverside Court
records.
Prosecutor Daima Calhoun president of a organization the Diana
Dimaggio was the major fund raiser.
Brian Floyds brother works for the attorney the County is using and
showed up in court for Ty Reddish. The case has been handled exactly
how Phil Reddish stated to the sheriff on the audio that was illegally
left out of the sheriff report.

Based on my rights to the Crime Victims Mandamus I request the case be
reviewed, for the agencies to provide protection, for the mandatory
medical and services that the government gives like situated persons
and mandates they are provided. I demand a hearing for the denial of
victim compensation and resitution. I request for a demand for injury.

California Attorney General ONLY works on some elder cases in Nursing Homes factually stated on record and calls it his discretion. Who is watching the FOX? The DA made a false statement of fact in State Court. The victim had internal affairs of the sheriff department personally serve legal council of the Riverside County directly as using a private attorney to represent them. After the notice and with actual knowledge put in another false statement of fact in Federal Court. The victim has no other rights of access or enforceable right than the right to restitution, 14th of our Constitution. Many Conflicts of interest with proof from the DA Rod Pacheco, Judge Richard Fields supervising a person on probation, Diana Dimaggio a probate judge, Jo Taylor a Federal employee and her husband family members of a probate judge, the parents of the 27 year old killer Ty Reddish who are Phil and Sheri Reddish in court in several probate cases with Taylor's, DA attorney is prior employer of Diana Dimaggio, that same law office is employer of Brian Floyd's brother who the father Phil Reddish states on sheriff audio told him how to get out of this. The Campaine manager for the DA and on payroll of DA, Brian Floyd works on Legislative bodies in Inland Empire. Brian Floyds brother is the attorney who showed up in court for Ty Reddish in Civil case. Brian Floyd past student of Phil Reddish. His wife teaches judo, wrestling, and he blogs on a website for wrestling with Diana Dimaggio's son. Brian Floyd paid out of District of Columbia payroll in the past with the license holder for Elder care program for the sale of bulk reo with regards to the FDIC. Rod Pacheco had a whistle blower case filed against him for fund raising by money from guardianship funds. The case was dropped under the privacy act. Property Reddish family claimed on Twin Pines road was a elder, court records show it is alledged illegally taken and transfered by Diana Dimaggio to the Reddish family. Court records as experenced by the Frank family were also in this case. The Frank family re introduced the removed records in Frank case to the new internal affairs department head who soon after removed Mark Dimaggio from his administrative position with access to the records removed. There was never a explanation or remedy to the Frank family. The alledged replacement for corruption in her duty of Melody Scott alledged to be Diana Dimaggio. Facts if allowed into court this victim did every thing on email and efax and can document each step of corruption. Crime victim Leota Ann Frank, Riverside County, filed a Rico Case in Federal Court Los Angeles. The sheriff department close cases, the prosecutor decides if he will prosecute. The separation of the duties. But in the final meeting the same investigator prosecutor at the homicide case, the sheriff, and the Taylors there for Phil Reddish statement closed the case exceptional without due process and not their duty, not according to the Administrative Law of California. To further deny justice did rule making like Gordon Nye Frank and Lee Frank were terrorist 104a. Gordon Nye Frank led a very public life, 5 years Beverly Hills, built famous race cars with breaking 6 world land speed records, Nye in the Internal Drag Racing Hall of Fame for Freight Train Dragster, and built for many other famous race car drivers and successful race projects. He was president of the local water board for over 7 year. Lee (Leota Ann) Breedlove-Frank a World Land Speed Record Holder as Fastest Woman on Land and first funder of the jet car project to bring the World Record back to the USA after 40 years. The USA citizens can be confident that if this case was taken pubic they can be proud of Nye and Lee Frank and that a real problem of a group of citizens of the USA do not have representation. This case needs to be heard.

Lee Frank would of had representation if she was officially charged with a crime. But because denial of official charges there was denial of the Federal Mandated Benifits without due process. She was and is over 70. She has the criminal stalking of the killer and his family with denial of protection in State and Federal Court. A protection order was denied, and the DA, County Council, and sheriff have knowledge of stalking. The killers family received victim compensation and a house put on a property that is two doors to Lee Franks home in a rural area at 4000 ft, homes on acres lots. The fact of dangerous threat having forced Lee Frank from her home and last gift from Nye Frank to her. Lee Frank will have to disclose to future buyers the neighbors can be dangerous. This will be another financial irreparrable harm to Lee Frank without any other access to justice.

I was recently shocked to see that DA Pacheco got a award for elder services when I had

kept asking for that type of service. I cannot imagine what type of reason can be given for

this. Please let me know and our rights to attend.

The misconduct of this case is going to come out. I am asking you to stop preventing

Prosecutor Pacheco says he cares about the victims but that has been proven to be a front. In the homicide of Gordon Nye Frank 68 by 27 year old Ty Reddish with wrestling and judo moves taught by his dad Phil Reddish in 2007. In the audio of Phil Reddish with the sheriff he states that the campane manager for DA Rod Pacheco Brian Floyd told him how and to say to make this look like Nye had a mutual combat and then a heart attack. The prosecutor Daima Calhoun and the sheriff were both there for this statement. The very night Nye was killed the Reddish parents followed and stalked Lee Breedlove-Frank to a home where she was invited to be comforted. Instead the Reddish family yelled at the host, called their house during dinner. The next day the Reddish family were back two doors down from us at a property that was owned by a friend of Lee Frank for 50 years who passed away. They intimidated anyone who tried to visit Lee Frank. Ty Reddish was let out of jail in one day. The sheriff would not stop the criminal stalking and isolation of a elder and her family. From stroies I was told the property was alledgedly transfered to the grocery girl by a attorney who claimed to be a successor of the trust. The signature on John Husbeths title does not match his past signatures and does not seem to match. Later when we got the sheriff report two parties there one a federal employee Jo Taylor and her husband are related to the attorney who transfered the property Diana Dimaggio. Diana Dimaggio is now a probate judge. Looking in court records there is several court cases with the Reddish family with the Taylors in probate cases and was the primary fund raiser for a organization the prosecutor and a judge who we requested to go to Ty Reddish probation hearing and denied. Brian Floyds brother works for the attorney representing the DA, Supervisors, Sheriff and Ty Reddish. The case was closed and records sealed. There is no evidence about Nye Frank in court records. Riverside County had a elder advocate but Lee Frank was told they did not. They had a elder death review team but we were told they did not. Lee was denied protection and all victim services. The supervisors also denied the victim compensation. After three years the Supervisors take UNCLAIMED funds and use them. The case was closed by the DA office which is a sheriff duty so may lose immunity. The ruling 104a and no case number means there is no evidence available and news reporters will not report on it. We have filed a Federal Court case but it is tough and already lots of exparte meetings with the judge by the other side. Inland empire elders have filed the first USA case to go to the United Nations. Only LA times back in 2005 wrote about Probate Homicides. This is serious stuff and to let this keep going on would be tragic when you can change it.

Nye Frank 68 zero history of involvement in crime, and his wife 72 year old Lee Frank no crime history. Celebrating a new home Nye built as a gift to Lee took a brake to go get the newspaper at the rural country road corner. A young angry man 27 Ty A Reddish professionally trained in judo and wrestling attacked Nye like the guys on tv wrestling. It was a brutal attack infront of Lee Frank. She begged the guy to stop but he would not. Lee got into her car as there was not anyone to assist her and thought perhaps if she drove it close to Nye Frank he may be able to get into it. Ty released Nye when he saw the car but had already been choking him and strangling Nye for a long time and bouncing on his chest. Nye did come to and able to get into the car to go home for lee to put on a clean shirt and go to the hospital. Lee's daughter saw the car go up the drive way and wanted to know what they wanted moved next. The new house and the old one directly across the street can see the front yards from either house. Calling for her mom she walked into her parents bedroom and on the floor dead was Nye Frank. Lee had one arm in her shirt when she came from her dressing room. There was strangulatin and broken chest bones. That night the parents of the 27 year old stalked Lee Frank and her family and harrassed the neighbors by them verbal attacks and non stop phone calls. The next morning Ty Reddish was let out of jail. The sheriff said he was not investigating because the prosecutor said they were not filing charges. The sheriff and Da obstructing getting the reports but with the help of NOVA the reports were received. The homicide closed by 104a a federal ruling without a hearing and without evidence. The victim compensation denied without evidence. The killer and his family were allowed with officials knowledge to stalk Lee, her family and neighbors. The court records of Ty Reddish probation removed and with the DA knowledge. No resitution, no hearing was allowed. Lee has applied in Federal court in Los Angeles. The attorney representing the DA and Supervisors, and sheriff is the same agency representing the killer. The audio at the time the sheriff reached the location the father states that the campaine manager for the DA Rod Pacheco told him how to get out of this and what to say. Not in police report. The internal affairs department after discovery with a FOIA said they could no longer talk to Lee or anyone about the case. The 104A enables the official to keep all records secret and a news black out. The crime was not given a crime case number which blocked Lee Frank from access to the courts. We have filed in Federal Court but the DA Rod Pacheco is fighting it. Lots of exparte meetings with the federal judge and the da attorney. There has been threats to Lee to lose every thing she has if she continues this. Looking at title records and evidence from other victims it shows parties at the site when prosecutor first got to the crime scene and Phil Reddish statements that there is a probate judge who originally transfered the property to the Reddish family alledged to be illegally. The federal employee family member of the judge Jo Taylor and her husband. The Reddish family and the Taylors are in several probate lawsuits. We had several elders call us to state they also were not given crime case numbers. The first UN case from the united states is from elders here in the inland empire. The AG says he has discretion to investigate. Even though Federally Funded programs and mandated benifits were denied Lee Frank. Leota Frank Riverside County Superior Court. 310 619-6260. Rushton before she will release the police report info. I have emailed that
information to him. The report will probably have information redacted per
their policy. I believe it is usually suspects info that is redacted, I'm not
sure. I printed the letters you attached to your email and put them in DA

Attached is a request notarized to have me be able to get the police
report and statements regarding Nye Frank and Ty Reddish. My mother is
72 years old and not in good health and the stress of this situation
compounds her health issues. I am the stepdaughter of Nye Frank and
was raised by him and have been a member of his family over 30 years.
Reading the Victim's Rights manual and websites states that my mother
is also entitled to extra help due to her age. Please update the
police, Sheriff, DA office that I am the next of kin and have the
right to help my mother. My contact information is below (they can
also contact me at my mom's house 951-849-1311).

Yesterday, I went to the Banning Police Department and they did not
have the police report. They referred me to the Cabazon Sheriff
department. When I went there, I spoke to Willene Garcia who is a
supervisor there. She told me I could not get a copy of the police
report or any statements. Also she questioned my being considered next
of kin of Nye's as she said I am a stepdaughter not a blood family
member. Then she said if she gave us anything it would have all the
information blacked out. I asked her if she had a victims rights
manual on site and she stated she did not and has not read one. I
called 760 836-1632 Central Homicide and have left several messages
but no one answers. In the past I have requested the police report,
statements in the file via phone, fax and letter. All requests have
been ignored, or we have been told we cannot have them.

I would like a way to go to court to have a judge court order our
ability to get the police report and statements. Can you please tell
us how or who can help us. We do not have money for an attorney. My
mother has been left without any income with my dad passing away. I am
willing to go where and see who we need to. Please help us with this.
Today would be great, sooner the better.

I am also attaching the letter from Larry McRae, also the documents
that came with the recording of their call to the police. I have the
recording now, and will bring it another time.

I hope the DA takes the time to read the letter from Larry McRae 951
845-7378, and Steven de Sante 714 969-8277 and interview them. Also
due to fear of being harmed and harassed, a family here that have
witnessed two incidents involving Ty Reddish have not come forward to
the police. But they did tell me about the three incidents, and told
me they are afraid to report them. They are my mom's neighbors,
Luciene and Connie Turlea and their daughters. They are the ones who
told me about Steven and helped me find him. They said there was also
a runner that they saw Ty roughing up physically and verbally yelling
at for making dust. But when Ty saw the girls walking he backed off.
They also were witnesses to the accident at Larry McRae's home. Their
home phone number is 951 849-6556. These are good people, immigrants
to this country and have had the Reddish family actively warn them
after Nye's death.

Consistant with this is also an experience that Bob Keeling's wife,
Claudia had with Ty being out of control when he verbally attacked Mrs
Keeling at the bottom of the hill in front of several people after
the fire when the fire department was not letting people go up the
hill.

Also attached is the document that was sent back to us with the refund
check for request of autopsy report, with Bob Doyle's office
themselves handwriting in our letter "Return check. Case is homicide.
No reports for release".

The whole experience with this has been so hard and really surreal. I
cannot believe that victims go through this. I hope to get involved
and stay involved to make a difference. If my parents did not have me
this would be brushed under a rug and left. My parents have been
assets to the community and are good people. They do not deserve this.
And the Riverside County community do not deserve to have this happen
again. I would like any training that your group offers, and to
participate in helping others.

I appreciated the DA's time this last week and yours. For the first
time I felt somewhat that Mike listened to what I had to say. I want
to thank both of you.

Federal Elder Abuse Victims Act: Enfolded
On October 21, 2009, several U.S. Senators introduced a proposed federal "Elder Abuse Victims Act (S. 1821)" as a "companion" Senate bill to one adopted earlier this year by a vote of 397 to 25 in the House, known as the Elder Abuse Victims Act (H.R. 448), introduced by Congressman Joe Sestak (D-PA). It appears that key provisions of this legislation have become enfolded into the pending Health Care Reform bill under consideration in the Senate.On September 21st, Congressman Sestak had urged Senate action in response to the previous House adoption of H.R. 448 on February 11, 2009. Today Senator Herb Kohl (D-WI), Chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Aging, Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Senator Barbara Mikulski (D-MD), Chairwoman of the Senate HELP Subcommittee on Retirement and Aging, and Senator George LeMieux (R-FL) introduced the Elder Abuse Victims Act, a bill that would improve the law enforcement community’s ability to target and combat abuse and exploitation of senior citizens.A companion to the Elder Abuse Victims Act (H.R. 448), introduced by Congressman Joe Sestak (D-PA), was passed earlier this year by a vote of 397 to 25 in the U.S. House of Representatives.“For years, Congress has failed to take concrete action to address the consequences of elder abuse, and that must change,” said Senator Kohl. “With this bill, we hope to help local enforcement agencies and other advocates tackle the often-hidden scourge of elder abuse.” * * *
That Press Release summarized the key provisions of the Senate's proposed Elder Abuse Victims Act:
Stipulates that elder abuse includes mail, telemarketing, and Internet fraud aimed at elderly people;
Seeks to develop a common definition of elder abuse as knowing infliction of physical or psychological harm, or the knowing deprivation of goods or services that are necessary to meet essential needs or to avoid physical or psychological harm;
Seeks to develop a common definition of elder exploitation as fraudulent or otherwise illegal, unauthorized, or improper acts or processes of an individual, including a caregiver or fiduciary, that uses the resources of an elder for monetary or personal benefit, profit, or gain, or that results in depriving an elder of rightful access to, or use of, benefits, resources, belongings, or assets; and
Funds creation of positions within State courts, prosecutors’ offices or State Medicaid Fraud Control Units to coordinate elder justice-related cases, training, technical assistance, and policy development for State prosecutors and courts. Thus, Senate Bill 1821 was one response to Sestak's call for action. But the response in the Senate may have extended far beyond it, into the pending, sweeping health care reform bill to be subject to debate in the Senate. Senate Democrats managed to push health care reform legislation past a key hurdle on Saturday night, with a cloture vote that will lead to a debate on the Senate floor later this month, the Associated Press reported. * * *"Elder justice" and "elder abuse" proposals in Congress began in the early years of this decade; but none has become law, despite broad-based, non-profit organizations supporting such legislation through political coalitions. See also: Transcript of Hearing on June 18, 2002 before the Senate's Committee on Finance, "Elder Justice: Protecting Seniors from Abuse and Neglect" (PDF, 74 pages).Now, in the most recent version of the Senate's proposed "Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (H.R. 3590)" (PDF, 2074 pages!), I find a Subtitle H entitled "Elder Justice Act" under under Title VI ("Transparency and Program Integrity"), consisting of three sections -- Sections 6701 through 6703, which begin at page 1798.H.R. 3590 in the 111th Congress, as amended from time to time, can be accessed through the Thomas Legislative Information Service, of the Library of Congress. That subtitle "may be cited as the 'Elder Justice Act of 2009'" per Section 6701. It appears that prior federal "elder justice" and "elder abuse" proposals have been enfolded into the pending health care legislation that would reorder health care delivery nationally.The definition of "elder" under the legislation is "an individual age 60 or older" according to Section 6702. Regarding such elders, the bill would amend the Social Security Act to introduce into federal law the concept of "Elder Justice," defined as:
(A) from a societal perspective, efforts to — (i) prevent, detect, treat, intervene in, and prosecute elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation; and (ii) protect elders with diminished capacity while maximizing their autonomy; and (B) from an individual perspective, the recognition of an elder’s rights, including the right to be free of abuse, neglect, and exploitation."Abuse" would be defined as: "The knowing infliction of physical or psychological harm or the knowing deprivation of goods or services that are necessary to meet essential needs or to avoid physical or psychological harm." "Exploitation" would be defined as "the fraudulent or otherwise illegal, unauthorized, or improper act or process of an individual, including a caregiver or fiduciary, that uses the resources of an elder for monetary or personal benefit, profit, or gain, or that results in depriving an elder of rightful access to, or use of, benefits, resources, belongings, or assets." A "fiduciary" would be "a person or entity with the legal responsibility — (i) to make decisions on behalf of and for the benefit of another person; and (ii) to act in good faith and with fairness." It would include "a trustee, a guardian, a conservator, an executor, an agent under a financial power of attorney or health care power of attorney, or a representative payee."To review the status of "elder justice," the proposal would create a new Elder Justice Coordinating Council, consisting of high federal officials, including the Attorney General. See: Pages 1808-1811.There would also be created a new Advisory Board on Elder Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation to "create short- and long-term multidisciplinary strategic plans for the development of the field of elder justice and to make recommendations to the Elder Justice Coordinating Council established under section 2021." See: Pages 1811-1818.These activities would be funded with $6.5 Million in 2011, and $7 Million annually in 2012 through 2014. See: Pages 1818 & 1819.The proposal provides for grants to be made to Elder Abuse, Neglect, and Exploitation Forensic Centers, and funds them to the extent of $20 Million in 2011, $17.5 Million in 2012, and $15 Million annually in 2013 and 2014. See: Pages 1821-1830.In addition, funding would be provided for "State and local adult protective services offices that investigate reports of the abuse, neglect, and exploitation of elders" at the levels of $3 Million in 2011 and $4 Million annually in 2012 through 2014. See: Pages 1830 & 1831.There would be created an "adult protective services grant program under which the Secretary shall annually award grants to States * * * for the purposes of enhancing adult protective services provided by States and local units of government."The current version of H.R. 3590 to be debated in the Senate would also create a Long-term Care Ombudsman Program and a National Training Institute for Federal and State surveyors. These initiatives, too, would be funded significantly through 2014.Whether these provisions in the controversial H.R. 3590 will survive, I don't know. But the fact of their inclusion for debate and consideration is a monumental step forward in federal involvement to curb elder abuse and enhance elder justice.Update: 11/23/09:An article was posted November 23, 2009, by the Kaiser Health News, entitled Congress Targets Senior Abuse, by Rick Schmitt (also published in The Los Angeles Times and The Baltimore Sun on the same date).The author highlighted the Elder Justice Act aspects of the pending health care reform bill presently in the Senate for consideration:
The Senate is considering an even more expansive Elder Justice Act. It would boost federal aid for identifying and investigating elder abuse at the state and local levels, require long-term care providers to report possible crimes to federal authorities and create new oversight within the Department of Health and Human Services for coordinating state and federal anti-abuse efforts.These provisions, already approved by the Senate Finance Committee, are included in the health legislation that is being prepared for floor debate after Thanksgiving. With broad support in and out of Congress, at least some of the measures appear to have good prospects for being enacted into law.More than 500 advocacy groups have lined up behind the legislation. It still faces opposition on budget grounds, although proponents say the cost of the Elder Justice Act -- about $757 million over four years -- is pocket change in the context of a near $1-trillion healthcare bill. * * *The article is lengthy, offers personal examples of elder abuse, and engages in a political analysis about inclusion of Elder Justice Act provisions into the health care reform legislation.Economics now appears to drive inclusion of such federal protections for senior citizens:
Supporters say elder abuse should be addressed in healthcare overhaul legislation because it pushes up healthcare costs and because financial exploitation of the elderly leaves many destitute and reliant on public assistance."This is prevention, which is a healthcare issue," says Robert Blancato, who heads the Elder Justice Coalition, an umbrella group for more than 500 groups that support the legislation. They include AARP, the American Bar Assn., and industry groups representing nursing homes and long-term providers, among others.State and local governments have long been on the front lines of such problems. But many studies have shown a shortage of resources among licensing agencies, long-term-care ombudsmen and adult protective service workers."The universal lack of resources, the enormous variation across jurisdictions and the low priority given to elder abuse and neglect make it difficult to see how significant progress can be made without federal standards and financial support," concluded researchers at Texas A&M University in a report prepared for the Justice Department last month. * * * [Links added.]I am heartened by this article's analysis as to the prospects for adoption of key provisions of past Elder Justice Act proposals into federal law with appropriate funding.
